‘CBI 5: The Brain’ Refuses to Flinch Before Spiderman: No Way Home!

The Malayalam language mystery thriller ‘CBI 5: The Brain’, 5th installment in the iconic CBI franchise, directed by K Madhu and written by S N Swamy began streaming on Netflix India on 12th of June. The biggest post-pandemic blockbuster ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ also dropped on Netflix, a day after.

Mammootty’s CBI 5 however occupied the First position in the Netflix India overall trending list in a day and hasn’t left the throne since. CBI 5: The Brain stars Mammootty as the iconic role of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer Sethurama Iyer. The film theatrically released last month to mixed reviews. There are other cast additions like Soubin Shahir, Renji Panickar, Anoop Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Asha Sharath, Kaniha, Ramesh Pisharody etc who were not part of previous CBI films.
