The Archies: Meet Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor & More From The 60s

Zoya Akhtar is one of the most impactful and path-breaking filmmakers in Bollywood. Her movies initially appear to be meant for only a certain class but always connects with the mass. The Archies, her first Netflix original film is looking exactly like that.

A teaser introducing the complete cast of the film has been released and it looks as if the characters are from the USA of the 1960s. But hold on, it is actually true.
The Archies is indeed based on the teens of Indian descent who happen to be in Riverdale. For the unversed, Riverdale is a fictional town in the USA where all the characters of The Archies comics live.

Regardless the cast includes Suhana Khan (Shahrukh Khan’s daughter), Khushi Kapoor (Late Sridevi’s daughter), Agastya Nanda (Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson), and Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda and Vedang Raina.

The film will be a musical just like Akhtar’s own Gully Boy and will release in 2023. This coming of age musical drama will be filled with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves and all the teenage tantrums.

The teaser features the song “Yeh Ballet” by Ankur Tewari and is very different from the regular songs we listen to. If the film features songs written by Javed Akhtar then it has a very high chance of connecting with the mass because it immensely helped films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Dhadakne Do.

But the best we can do is to wait for more details.
